0031 Belarus - country of rivers and lakes

Belarus call the country of lakes — in the republic about 11 thousand of them. Most of all lakes in the North and the northwest, in so-called Belarusian Poozerye. Practically all lakes of Belarus of a glacial origin, are formed by thawing of the Valdai glacier (about 12 thousand years ago).
